Unit 8 Review of Practices

After having tried many exercises and practices in this course, I found the Loving-kindness and the Subtle mind practices to be most beneficial to me personaly.
I find it helpful to meditate in the morning, before anything else. I sit on the porch, listening to nature awake, and practice the loving-kindness exercise. This sets the stage for the day by allowing me to start every day with a positive attitude. Also, this is very easy to "mini" practice when waiting in line or in traffic.
In the evenings, as I take a ritual "bubble" bath, I practice the subtle mind exercise. First, by focusing on my breathing--allowing tension to go out with every out breath,--then, I let go of all thoughts and just watch as the activity of the day passes through my mind, then I let it go!!! Very relaxing indeed!

Wishing you All Well!!

  1. Hi Becky

Well that sounds real good. Meditating in the morning and practicing it in line or in traffic. I need to try that especially when I am driving in traffic and before I walk in the building to go to work. Just in my car and breath and relax my mind and more so before I come home and walk in the front door. Bubble bahts are always a plus to get rid of the tension you my have been feeling that day.
